Pivot Fitness at IDS Center

Tenant amenity improvements are nothing new to large properties in Downtown Minneapolis, but when it happens at the IDS Center, the tallest building in the Midwest outside Chicago, it gets noticed.  Such is the case for IDS Center’s new 7,200-square-foot fitness center.

AdvantageHealth was hired by the owners of the 57-story, mixed use property to assist in the design, layout and equipment procurement of the new space.  Due to the size of the property, which includes 130 tenants and over 4,500 employees working in the building, careful thought was put into locker room size and efficiency, cardio and strength equipment selection, group exercise class offerings and activity-based wellness programming.  In addition, with the new fitness center located between retail and tenant spaces, extra time was spent on electrical, lighting, ventilation, sound and security considerations.

Within the first month of opening in March 2015, membership grew to over 1,400 members.  The fitness center currently has two full-time AdvantageHealth Fitness Specialists on staff and utilizes additional resources such as specialty class instructors and a professional run coach.  View the website for Pivot Fitness at IDS Center.
